Jay Gruden: Reuben Foster may never play for Washington

The Washington Redskins have Reuben Foster in the fold, but it appears they’re going to engage in a fact-finding mission before he gets the chance to play. Coach Jay Gruden said Wednesday it would be “a while” before Foster played a game, and didn’t rule out the possibility that Foster would never even suit up for Washington. Gruden voiced a desire to “get to the bottom of what happened” relating to Foster’s Saturday domestic violence arrest that ultimately led to the San Francisco 49ers waiving him. After Foster’s domestic violence arrest, Washington was the only team willing to even put a claim in. Their strategy appears to be to get him on the team, find out what happened, and wait out an NFL investigation to see if he gets suspended. Essentially, they’re buying low in the off-chance he faces no discipline and ends up playing again. That’s not exactly the greatest message to send.
